About

A specialist partner built for the off-season window.

Project Off-Season exists to help senior football leadership use the off-season for the structural, behavioural, and leadership work the in-season rarely allows.

01Why We Exist

Players are coached every day. Staff structures rarely get the same investment.

In elite football the in-season pace makes honest structural work almost impossible. Roles blur, leadership behaviours harden, and pressure responses go unaddressed — until they cost results.

Project Off-Season was built around the only natural window where this work is possible: the weeks between seasons. A focused, confidential engagement that arrives ready for pre-season.

02How We Work
01

Football-specific

Built for the rhythms, pressures, and politics of a professional football staff group. No generic corporate playbook, no transferable templates.

02

Psychologically informed

Grounded in evidence and structured assessment, applied with judgement. We use our own internal framework — never reduced to a test result.

03

Discreet by default

Confidential, low-profile, and protective of the people in the room. Senior leadership retains control of scope, communication, and outputs.

04

External objectivity

An outside view staff and leadership can trust, free from internal politics, succession dynamics, or in-season noise.

03The Standards We Hold

The rules we don't break.

  1. /01We turn down work where we're not the right fit.
  2. /02We never share client names or details without written permission.
  3. /03We work with a small number of clubs each off-season — capacity is intentionally limited.
  4. /04We brief honestly, even when the message is uncomfortable.
04The People

Two co-founders, one shared standard.

Two operators who have lived the work — in dressing rooms and in boardrooms — and bring both perspectives into every engagement.

Elle' Nelson

Elle Nelson is a Mental Performance Coach trusted in full-time professional football environments, having built and led the first club-wide mental performance programme at Columbus Crew in MLS, working across the men’s first team and academy.

She is used to operating inside multi-disciplinary teams, partnering with technical, tactical, medical, player care, and leadership staff to enhance performance outputs systemically. Elle's unique experience enables her to understand dressing-room dynamics, staff realities, and the demands of a long season from lived experience, which allows her to connect quickly and credibly with players, coaches and wider staff alike.

Alongside her football roles, she has worked as an executive performance coach with global organisations such as Johnson & Johnson, Astellas Pharma, and others, bringing the best of high-performance corporate practice into sport.

Elle’s value to your club is her ability to collaborate respectfully with existing staff, translate cutting-edge organisational psychology and corporate performance thinking into simple, usable tools, and help leadership teams build robust mental and cultural frameworks that fit their game model and environment.

Riteesh Mishra

Riteesh Mishra is an experienced coach and coach developer who has operated at senior levels across elite boys’, girls’, men’s, and women’s football, currently as Assistant Head Coach at Nottingham Forest Women. He has led first-team Championship environments, overseen club-wide methodology and coach development at Charlton Athletic, and worked with The FA as a Technical Coach and Coach Mentor, giving him a deep understanding of how academies, first teams, and national pathways connect.

As a former Nottingham Forest academy and professional player, Riteesh knows the realities of the men’s game and the standards expected in high-pressure football environments. Away from the pitch, he has worked as a leadership development and culture specialist with large organisations, giving him boardroom-level insight into how world-class companies build people systems, culture, and performance—insight he now applies directly within football.

At Project Off-Season, Riteesh is the person clubs bring in when they want someone who can sit comfortably with GMs, technical directors, and head coaches, work alongside existing staff without disrupting them, and design clear performance and culture structures that combine the best of elite football and the best of global corporate practice. His unique blend of experiences means he doesn’t just understand high performance in theory—he has lived it in both worlds.
